It's time to say.....

Happy Saturday morning to you girls....it is POURING down rain here for us....it's barely 50 degrees...a great day to cuddle up at home which is exactly what we're going to do....one of the things on my mind today is the ...END OF OCTOBER....(oh sad)....

Alice and I are waving a fond farewell to one of the best months of the year....This sweet little statue of ..."ALICE IN WONDERLAND"  was a present from my dad years ago when I was seven ....he was a musician ...he played the accordion ....in the early 6o's he had a job at Disneyland playing with a band on main street....he brought this little Alice home for me with a watch wrapped at her feet....my sister got Snow White...I cherish her...

I was up in the attic recently and found one of my favorite books.... "The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady" have you ever heard of it...It was published in the  late seventy's....after the journal and all her paintings were found in England by her family...she lived in the early 1900's...

This is a picture of Edith...

She would go out into the countryside of England to journal and draw ...plants...flowers...animals...she had a wonderful talent the book above "The Edwardian Lady" is the story of Edith's life...it's a very good book with pictures of her family...herself...and of course her paintings...

Her attention to detail when drawing birds and animals was impeccable...

She didn't spend a lot of time painting houses or cottages so this picture is one of my favorites

This print is of the goats used in the book "Gruff the Goat"...I believe that was the name..anyway she had some other books published as well

I've never seen this one but I am on the hunt for it...during the eighties many gift items were made of her work...tin cans...purses...apothecary jars with her artwork on the front of the bottles...I think  the tradition of recording nature keeping a  journal as the seasons roll in and out is so charming...it's a very Victorian snap shot of  the female life back then...if any of you love to read good books about that era with fabulous pictures these books are... Hi Ho....Hi Ho...It's Off To Work I Go.....

Hi girls...it's evening time....still have to grab dinner...but I wanted to let you know I had a fine first day at work today the gals I work with are very kind ...the store is peaceful ....the smell.....oh my goodness it's pure... BLISS....it was a little bit of heaven....I  am so thankful ....I hope you all had a wonderful day...tomorrow the family will come over for dinner after work so I won't have time to post anything between time...I will sit down Saturday morning first thing...I know you understand..big hugs and lots of blessings....thanks for stopping by....Karena

Good Morning ladies....we are 59 days away from Christmas...I have butterfly's in my tummy just thinking about it...soon it will be time to get our box's of decorations down from the "Cabin in the Attic"...always one of my favorite traditions this time of year...

I start dreaming about cozy quilts covering the sofa's and chairs in the house...so when my faces come to visit in the cool evening...they can cuddle up under something old...soft...and cherished....quilts that are  years old add to the wonder of a cozy Holiday at home......

For over 20 years now Victoria has been one of my favorite inspirations for holiday decorating...

When new issue's stopped coming for some years....I would pour over my old ones ....gently turning each page ...taking great care not to spill tea or coffee as I read ....no matter how many times I'd looked through each edition....I ALWAYS found new inspiration for that year's "Holiday Look"...

I always dream about caroling during the Christmas Season...even though I have only done so four or five times in my life....I still find myself thinking about it first thing ....as soon as October draws to an end....

soft lighting....candles glowing....glass sparkling....I CAN'T WAIT....

Not many times of the year make me look forward to running to the mail box...but soon Christmas Cards will start showing up in the mail....with postage from other places ....from longed for faces....loved ones that are thinking of us...we will fill out our own cards with updates for them ...I can't help but feel like a little girl at this time of year...do you girls have traditions....or special things you start dreaming of this time of year....I find it comforting to think of you all in your homes ...wherever you are....in other countries even....we share a kindred spirit when it comes to creating ...Christmas.....I am looking so forward to it.......aren't you....hope you have a great day today....full of anticipation....I will be thinking of you....I start work tomorrow...I will be a little later posting ....but I will let you know how my first day went......blessings and hugs you lovely ladies....Karena

Praising The Lord......I've Got News.....

Good Morning Girls.......I AM PRAISING MY LORD....this morning....he has heaped ....

.....on my heart.....I have finally found a ....J.O.B.....I will give you a hint....it's someplace FABULOUS...a place I've shared with you in past post's ....way before it was ever a glimmer that someday I may work there......OKAY....this next pic should give you the answer....

YES....YES....YES...I am a new employee.... at the one....the only....YANKEE CANDLE COMPANY....I am so thankful to my heavenly father for answering this prayer...it is in my deepest heart that I realize how important it is for me to jump into the "HAPPY POOL".....to soak this blessing in....I have to thank my baby girl and her sweetie for loving me...because they were the Lord's messenger's on my behalf a few months ago ...on a shopping trip to restock their candles...they talked to the assistant manager about me...grabbed an application for me to fill out....it was their encouragement and sweet concern that brought me to Yankee's doorstep....THANK YOU ANGELS....

THANK YOU LORD FOR THIS BLESSING....I start on Thurs. of this week......one step at a time...I will enjoy the journey....I have some things to do this morning ...so I need to fly...I just wanted to post this blessing first thing this morning....I thank you for your prayers and sweet thoughts girls....have a splendid day....blessings and big hugs........Karena
