Spring play's Peek-a-Boo

Good Morning Girls....where I live spring is playing with us a bit....sunshine one day ...clouds and rain the next. I took this picture of some primroses we picked up at Loews a few weeks ago. They are getting blooms now that are so pretty I have been in the garden this week weeding raking moving plants. It's my way of connecting with our new place I enjoy being outside in the dirt it gives me peace to begin creating a garden that feels like us. I have also been spending time talking to the Lord about the government shut down the new earthquake in Japan the days ahead for so many could be really hard. I am asking the Lord's protection always his guidance ......but most of all his peace......I fight worry like we all do. The word tells us we SHOULDN'T worry. That the Lord takes care of us through thick and thin.......so my prayer for all of us today is a good dose of his love as we all take on the day.....I am thinking about you all today....hoping you are blessed......Karena

Girls Best Friend

I know the Lord created dogs because he knew we needed a little bit of him on this earth. Dog friends love us unconditionally with their whole heart's ALL THE TIME....this is our dog friend Terza he is over 14 years old now "we think". We saved him in 1999 from being put down he is the BEST puppy in the whole world but he is getting older every day just like us....the thing is he was up all night last night STANDING STILL...somehow around 8:30 last night he hurt his shoulder it was impossible for him to lay down. I cried most of the night...I couldn't sleep I could not cope with the reality that someday soon I won't have this sweet spirit in my life anymore ....it is devastating to me. I gave him a baby aspirin this morning in hopes it would give him enough relief to finally lay down. IT WORKED 20 minutes ago he was looking at me with those big brown eyes when he sighed blinked at me just as he layed down to rest for the first time in `15 or more hours....He is one tired pooch....I am sharing all this becuase it's all I can think about today. I know you all understand the heart of a dog lover....I will post something more tomorrow. I just wanted to ask for prayer for Terza and for me......thank you girls it is a blessing to know your out there have a peaceful day............Karena

It's Wed. the weekend is coming

God bless you all this morning It's a gloomy day here with rain expected by the afternoon. But my heart is full of sunshine. April is almost here, once Easter comes I will really be excited. Hubby's sister is coming out from the west coast for a visit. We can't wait for her to get here. It will be a blessing to see her beautiful face We get to take walks play in the Garden spend time at the beach stay up late watching old movies (one of my favorite things in the whole world) it is great to have family around. All my faces mean the world to me being with them is what makes me breath. I hope you all have a WONDERFUL day.....Jesus loves you so much today....Karena

The Snow is Falling

Good Morning Girls....I woke up this morning thinking about the beauty of snow how unique each flake is how spectacular we all feel when we've heard on the weather station we will be getting some. The joy of "Anticipating" it's arrival every human being I've ever known loves snow ... Recently I heard a statistic that my heavenly father used to give me an analogy. The fact is that when snow starts falling in the atmosphere it takes 8 hours or more for the flake to hit the ground. As I pondered this the Lord revealed to me that snow is like his answers to prayer. The weather man tells us to prepare for snow we bundle up our children, get food in the house we make sure our animals are inside (if they're not already) we physically DO things in preparation of a something we CAN'T SEE YET....just because we can't see it doesn't mean it isn't coming.If we trust the Lord when we are pouring our hearts out to him when our souls are groaning over something so important that we ache for his help for his answer for him to MOVE. What would happen if  we told ourselves "THE SNOW IS FALLING" even though we can't see it.  I have stepped out in faith over this "thought" since the Lord gave it to me. Here are some of the things the "snow" has brought me. Healing, better relationships, this blog, .....on and on the "SCIENTIFIC FACT" has lined up with "HEAVENLY ANALOGY" that it takes time to CREATE ....time to ARRIVE...time to RECEIVE....so sisters think about this as you walk your day out today. Our God is the star breather the universe maker the creator of snow ....by the way he also tells each snowflake how they will look ....how long they will last....and how much of them will fall.........our God is a MIGHTY GOD...loving you all today and praying you are ALL BLESSED with the knowledge that the snow is falling .........it's coming........just for you........exactly when you need it...........in him ........Karena

Hubby and I enjoy entertaining so much Having friends over to share a meal is always a blessing. The fun of planning the menu shopping for the food is a loving exercise in sharing. My favorite part of all is pulling the table together getting the dinner ready and anticipating our friends arrival. We have a very small nook off our kitchen that shares space with our family room. Even though it's "petite" we make it work. I am always taken back by the sweet acceptance of our guests to overlook the somewhat tight quarters. They all give themselves joyously to the evening with smiles, laughter always generous in their sharing. I often think of Jesus sitting with the disciples sharing a meal outside or in with Martha and Mary or others that he met along the way. It is something that ALWAYS gives my soul a good dose of HIM. I hope you all will have a wonderful Saturday. Hubby and I have errands to do for one of our cars we will try to squeeze in some fun along the way. It's been busy around here

I've been so busy these last few day's my time on the computer has been non-existent ....over the weekend we had the family over for dinner. Sunday was a really nice day  weather wise so we got out in the garden to dig up some rose bushes I wanted to move then I found a hydrangea that would look much better in the front yard so we moved that too. It was such a wonderful time being together outside getting a feel for the gardens. We talked to some of our neighbors as they walked by a few of them were in their yards too. I just LOVE THE FEELING SPRING CREATES........there was a joy and anticipation as we all talked together about what was growing in our yards who had what tree's budding what garden plans we were excited to share with one another. My sister was so sweet she brought us some seedlings she started for our "Victory Garden". I'm calling it a victory garden cause it's been over 8 years since I've tried to plant anything like squash, lettuce, tomatoes. I am going to conquer my nerves and self doubt I am going to wait for the threat of frost to end then I am going to BE BRAVE AND PLANT. I am really excited about deciding what will grow here I will take some time to read a little about some of the things I'd like to have during the summer months. It is also a dream of mine to "PUT UP" some of the things we grow. So for now I will make my choices, wait for Bonnie Plant's to show up in the nursery's. Hopefully the next time we chat I will have plans for where the garden will grow best. Hope you all have a blessed day. Pick something you love to think about today....something that makes you smile........then think about it all day picture it in your minds eye. At the end of the day I bet you have a heart full of peace and joy as well as smiles. I Have Always Loved "The Enchanted Cottage"

The first time I saw this movie It was 1963 I was 7 years old.  "OLDIES"  held a fascination for me. I was mesmerized by  the music laughter and wonder they provided. I spent hours with faces like Carol Lombard Cary Grant Humphrey Bogart. The 1930's and 40's I just loved watching these old movies . As I  grew up my "Favorites"  all floated to the top . The "Enchanted Cottage" is and has been at the top of my list all these years. It has never been available before on DVD ....until now. Turner Classic Movies has recently released it for the public to  finally own .I won't say much more about it except to encourage those of you who have never had the joy of seeing this most romantic story with Dorothy Mcguire and Robert Young find it...rent it..... buy it. Choose a moment to set aside some YOU time grab some popcorn your favorite beverage , sit back and ENJOY an afternoon of pure bliss. I guess all that's going on this week with Japan's earth quake the  worry of the sunami affecting friends and family on the West Coast has me longing for time to escape for a moment with an "Old Friend" !!!Any time I've needed encouragment or escape this movie has provided it. I was given a vhs copy of it from a friend in 1989 she recorded it for me off the "American Movie Classic" channel I had that tape for all these years until It recently tore 3 christmas's ago. My daughter's boyfriend found a place online that will create old movies that are out of print on a new DVD. That is how I have come to own a copy of my own. It is one of my most treasured possessions I hope if any of you know this movie or share my enthusiasm for it you will let me know. Till then have a wonderful Wed.
