New Day...New Month...New Me....

Whew.....Hello Ladies it's been a while ....I am HAPPY to be back to my blog....let me tell you the last week has been so busy...with Irene hitting ....clean up...and FINALLY helping my daughter and her sweetie move into their new house...I have some pictures of Irene below...kind of hard to see but this was outside on my daughters deck on the third floor...we were starting to flood a bit here....the storm itself was not as scary as Isabel...(what is it with storms named with "I's")... anyway...what was scary was the way Irene stalled over us for HOURS...afterward as we poked our heads outside we realized the Lord had REALLY BLESSED US.....we were spared as far as damage...trees down...and mega flooding...Praise God... I thought of you all while I was hunkered in....I hope all of you on the East Coast are well and not suffering too much with power outages etc....I am happy to greet a new month...happy September 1st....I changed my background this morning...I am CRAVING FALL...I will share some tomorrow about my daughters move...for now I hope you all have a SPLENDID DAY....

More of the water gathering

The wind blowing the trees...

Sunday afternoon....the water in our area was already drying up...

The kids took us to lunch Tues. after the movers left...

This food was FABULOUS...all freshly sliced Italian subs...it was delicious "Jersey Mike's" are any of you familiar ?....this was our first time....we will definitely be back...that was our Tuesday the kids are so happy...we are too...now if we can just get through the next month with no more Hurricanes.....life will be GRAND....thank you girls for popping in big hugs and blessings too....Karena

Here She Comes.....

Hi there girls....well here she is....Irene in all her glory...we're all a little nervous about this hurricane once she hits it could turn into "the storm of the century" as the Weather folks keep saying ...it's not comforting to hear words like  "The Perfect Storm"...I woke up this morning to see the track had shifted a smidgen over night to our chagrin....we are going to get hit hard with this storm....so no more wondering ....now we just have start preparing...part of that for me is to make this post to share with you I might be MIA for some time....if we loose electricity I won't have anyway to blog until we get back to normal ...I will be thinking of you ..if any of you are in North Carolina I am praying for you ALL as well....thanks so much for popping in ladies...blessings and hugs......Karena

Lord it's me Karena.....Please be with us Father for the next 24 - 48 hours I put our little "Cottage" in your hands with all of us inside....Please keep us all safe....give us your grace and please protect my family Lord...the faces that belong to me Jesus ...it is stressful to be away from them during a storm...Thank you in advance for your provision and care....Amen

Hurricane's...Walk Through's....and New Begginings

Hi Girls....it's Thursday morning again...gee the day's are flying by...I have a big day today...it's walk through day for my daughter and her sweetie at her NEW DIGS...so exciting...so my husband and I are up early to by on the road soon. I wanted to say Hi before I start the day. I am still praying for hurricane "IRENE"...we will have something from this powerful storm but the prayer is that the eye miss us...that the Lord in his grace will pull that Irene right out into the ocean....I have some quick pic's to share then I have to scoot..but I'll be thinking of all you sweeties....love and hugs..........blessings too...Karena

Love this old print and her oval frame

I'm have some affection for this plant holder...hoping someday it can come live at our house...

This grouping of topiary was precious at "Michael's"

This is our illusive "Lilly"...she is sort of old....truth be told...she only has eyes for my sweetie...

Living a Loblolly Moment....

Good Morning Girls...I wanted to tell you that yesterday in our neck of the woods we had an EARTHQUAKE...Now I know that may be even harder to believe when I tell you I do NOT live in sunny California...no I am on the East Coast....at 2:00 yesterday from New York to North Carolina we were shaking...rattling...and rolling. My animal friends freaked out but other then that nothing broke or cracked Praise God...I was feeling a little "off kilter" while it was happening just because for 18 years I haven't had to worry about the earth moving beneath me...my daughter called to check on me...she said "Momma could we have one more natural disaster for our closing this week"....bless her heart with Hurricane Irene bearing down and the earth shaking she was frustrated....so that leads to my request this morning...Please be praying for us in the Mid-Atlantic this week regarding Irene the news said just now that she could hit us as a level 4 hurricane....but with one "wink" from our heavenly father she could blow north of us out to sea and spare us all ......if we could just get a good dose of rain from her that would be good...I am off to help my angel finish her packing...closing is tomorrow...you girls will be in my thoughts....blessing and big hugs to you.....Karena

He's my Hero.....

Hi There....this is our dog friend Terza (teer-za)....we have been sharing this journey for over 12 years together...he is getting older just like me...has some grey around his face ...but honestly he is SPRY of spirit...he forgets that he has some limitations...like jumping up on the couch is a thoughtful well planned endeavor...but he never lets his aching shoulder or sensitive hips keep him from....running....or jumping....or giving kisses when the mood strikes him...he's is my best friend ...I melt every time I look into those BIG BROWN EYES....you would too ....wouldn't you....I have the day calling out to me so this post will be short......I just wanted to let you know I have a good friend to walk thru the day with......hoping you all have a great Tuesday....hugs and blessings...Karena

Thinking of my Daughter........

Hi Girls....are you awake.....it's 7:28 in the AM....I have been up for a while now...I've been outside talking to my Garden fixed some things inside that needed it...and now I wanted to talk to my BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER..I wanted to celebrate with her this morning ...because today is the beginning of a new chapter of her life....she and her sweetie have purchased their FIRST HOME...yep they found an adorable place to own ...this is the Monday Morning of the week they will close on their first house....so my sweet girl how excited are YOU....this is your Momma reminding you to jump into the HAPPY pool and swim around for a while....get a good drenching of what this  feels like because you will never experience having your "FIRST THIS HOUSE  BELONGS TO US" moment .. a second time....I just want to tell you how proud I am of you ...how happy I am to share this exciting.... FIRST....with  both of you...these next few days will FLY by ...before you know it ...you will have a new key to add to your key ring.......SO ....know that I am thinking of you so much this week ....I love you with all my heart....AND I am here if you need any last minute help....I can hear the clock ....tic toc ...tic toc...tic tocking  its way to ...MOVE IN DAY....                          Thank you girls for indulging me ....it's a happy time for us....I am blessed to share it with you ...I hope you all have a brilliant day...blessings and big hugs ....Karena

Making A House.....Our Home

It is Sunday afternoon...it's quiet around here today...we've had a good drenching rain ....an answer to prayer in our neck of the woods...I have been thinking today as we approach being in our humble little home  a year next week ...WHAT MAKES A HOUSE A HOME...I've been pondering the logistics of moving...packing up our treasures...purging things we agree to let go of...making the mental notes of how our furniture will fit into new spaces...as I've walked around today I realize how blessed I am to have this 1941 Brick Gem to live in....each day since our first... I've lovingly taken care of her...gotten to know her gardens...cleaned her windows and swept her porches...in doing so I've decided she's given us a gift in return....she has slowly accepted us ....allowed us to dote on her.... without a sound she has given us the most precious gift........she has given herself to us.... she feels like HOME...

From the front porch to the back yard we are putting down our roots....it feels good ....New memories are stacking up here I am grateful for all of it...just a "THANKFUL THOUGHT" to share with you girls....rain always makes me thoughtful...as well as appreciative........bless you ...big hugs too.....Karena
